Hickory was chosen for his breeding, looks, tractability and most importantly temperament. He also rides like a dream. A true performance horse, Hickory Star stands at 14.3 hh but still manages to have that “look at me quality and presence”. He is a well mannered and an easily managed stud with a lovely nature which he passes onto his foals. His kind eye wins everyone over.

Hickory Star’s pedigree is full of champion working performance bloodlines. Hickory Star was cutting trained by Richard Webb and has placed in both cutting and halter events.

His sire Bar Doc Hickory (imp) has earnings over $10,000. He is 95 Cotton County Classic Challenge champion and has his Certificate of Ability and Merit. His progeny have been in every NCHA final except for one year.

His dam Rocs Stardust is a NCHA money earner and dam of the famous Quarter Horse mare One Hell of a Spin, queen of cutting. Her mother Euroka Starlet won the NCHA futurity in 77 and ran second in the Moonbi Futurity in the same year.
